Tkachuk has been a beast, Smith as well. I think Tkachuk should be on the first PP unit. Versteeg looks like crap out there

I disagree with getting lack some playing time this week. Mike Smith has been hot so ride the hot hand for another week or two and pick up some more wins. Everyone stress' how the Flames always come out slow and never have good starts. Now you have a good start and you want to put a probable loss in there just cause you want to get Lack some time. He will get his time when it comes. Pick up some more W's first and then fans and everyone will be ok with giving Lack a game.

By getting a decent cushion in the Wins column it could take some stress off Lack to get wins and he could play better.

I thought the obvious game for Lack was Friday against the Sens...then let Smith have the hnc game. That said, after 4 days off, Smith will be ready to go for a few more games. But they have to give Lack the obvious starts and he should be somewhere around 20 games minimum. They can't ride a good goalie into the ground like they did with Kipper every season.

If the Flames still want to be a playoff team, there's no way Lack even gets to ten starts. He was awful last year, he was awful in the preseason, and has looked awful in practice. He may actually be the worst goalie earning an NHL paycheque this year.

Well, realistically, Flames need 20-25 starts from someone not named Smith. If Lack is indeed awful, they'll have to send him down and bring up someone else...but before we get there we need confirmation that he's not up to the job.

I agree, he looked decent when he was in Vancouver and he's still in his prime. All he needs is a bit of confidence and he'll be fine. IMO, it's got to help being on the same team as Smith.

Crappy art, new arena, successful hockey team, and now Bill Smith. He was ours first.

I agree, we need to get Lack some starts. Smith has been great and with 4 days off there's no reason not to play him Thursday, but if we realistically want to contend we need some decent backup goaltending, too. Whether or not that backup is Lack, we need to see what he can do first.

Besides, Lack could be just fine. A lot of you didn't like the Smith trade, either, yet here we are with 4 wins in the first six games and him being a big reason why. Let's actually see him play before we start calling him out.
